On behalf of the church plant committee, we would like to convey our excitement and thanks to God in the providence of forming a new church plant in the south suburbs of Grand Rapids. Here are the recent developments within the plant for your prayers.
Here at Harvest Church, we pray that God would work out his will through us. We desire to follow his word and to be a multiplying Church in that we want to multiply churches and multiply disciples. We want to be reproducing churches—gospel outposts—through planting new churches and we want to be reproducing disciples by growing in
personal evangelism so that we’re sharing the gospel with people in informal conversations, through one-to-one Bible studies, through broader ministries of the church.
As we disciple our covenant children and grow in evangelism and church planting, we make a significant impact in West Michigan——and in the nation, as we assist the denomination in various ways by helping train men for the pastorate, plant churches, contribute to denominational leadership, etc.
During a recent Sunday School hour, Pastor Wayne gave a presentation on recent discussions that the Session has had about planting churches. The presentation looked at why Harvest wants to continue to plant churches and steps that should be taken if we want to continue frequent church planting efforts.
