In our broken world, anger is a given. I get angry; you get angry; our children get angry. In every case, we perceive something as wrong; we take a stand against it; and we take action, in one form or another. But questions abound! How does this good, God-given capacity for anger go bad in us and in our children? How does grace transform devilish anger into godly anger? Practically speaking, how can we deal constructively with our anger? And how can we help our children deal constructively with theirs? Has your world gone mad? This seminar aims to connect the riches of Christ to the realities of our anger.

Let’s face it: parenting is hard work! Besides the physically draining work of tidying up the diapers of an infant or the dirty laundry of a teenager, there’s the spiritual burden that we carry for our children as we desire to see them trust in Christ alone and walk in obedience before him. This work of discipling our children happens over countless conversations where we seek to point them to Jesus amidst the joys, sins, and sorrows of everyday life.

This class is intended to train and equip adults—parents, family members, and church volunteers—to apply biblical instruction and wisdom to these conversations. We’ve selected some of the most challenging topics facing families today and have planned a series of training seminars designed to help you talk with the young people in your life about important topics like anxiety and depression, using technology well, bullying and suicide, gender and sexuality, and more.

Pastor Greg lead the seminar on November 11 with a conversation on anger. Upcoming outside speakers are Protect Young Eyes on December 9 to talk about technology use and Julie Lowe from CCEF on February 10 to talk about bullying and suicide.
