Given the current circumstances in the United States, the Sunday School Committee with the approval of the WALK ministry and the Session has decided to not try to have the traditional classes for our members this fall. We have put together a plan that would help households focus on the catechism this year. When the present situation changes, we will move back to our age-level class structure, Lord willing.

The Sunday School Committee will be supplying families with devotional and study materials, encouraging memory work for all ages, and providing weekly encouragement through the bulletin and e-mail.

We will make devotional books available for families to use:

  • From the Lips of Little Ones (for a preschool through second-grade study of the Children’s Catechism)
  • Training Hearts, Teaching Minds by Starr Meade for a week by week study of the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

Our educational season will be kicked off with an evening conference on September 10 from 6:30 to 8:30pm focusing on our responsibilities to be trained in the doctrines of the church and the importance of the catechism. At the conference, we will hear from our pastors and other families about strategies and tips for healthy discipleship in our homes. A book table of resources from Reformation Bookstore will be available.

We, as a committee, are excited to see where this study could bring us. Our prayer is for blessings to each member of Harvest, ages 1 to 100.
