THE COURSE OF YOUR LIFE (in-person)
Time: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays | 7-8:30pm | starting October 7

Do you ever stop and think about where your life is going? What are you supposed to be doing with your life? What does it look like for you—with your unique personality, gifts, and relationships—to live a purpose-filled life? The Course of Your Life is an opportunity for you to consider who you are and why God has put you here on this planet.

Besides meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each week for 90 minutes of training, course participants will also be asked to participate in regular one-to-one Bible readings (don’t worry – we’ll show you how!) and a weekend intensive near the end of the course (probably mid-winter).

Sign up online now – the course will have its first meeting on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 PM in the Harvest auditorium.

ENGAGE: DISCIPLING OUR KIDS THROUGH EVERYDAY CONVERSATIONS (in-person recommended, online optional)
Time: 2nd Wednesdays | 7-8:30pm | starting October 14
Location:
Harvest
Contact: Pastor Wayne | 616.334.8798 | wayne.veenstra@harvestopc.org

Let’s face it: parenting is hard work! Besides the physically draining work of tidying up the diapers of an infant or the dirty laundry of a teenager, there’s the spiritual burden that we carry for our children as we desire to see them trust in Christ alone and walk in obedience before him. This work of discipling our children happens over countless conversations where we seek to point them to Jesus amidst the joys, sins, and sorrows of everyday life.

This class is intended to train and equip adults—parents, family members, and church volunteers—to apply biblical instruction and wisdom to these conversations. We’ve selected some of the most challenging topics facing families today and have planned a series of training seminars designed to help you talk with the young people in your life about important topics like anxiety and depression, using technology well, bullying and suicide, gender and sexuality, and more.

Pastor Greg will kick off this training on October 14 with a conversation on anxiety. Upcoming outside speakers are Protect Young Eyes on December 9 to talk about technology use and Julie Lowe from CCEF on February 10 to talk about bullying and suicide.
